WSUS (Windows Server Update Services)

The workstations and servers of your WSUS server, their exact build and their missing updates.

What the connector does

The WSUS connector connects to the server over WinRM HTTPS and runs a read-only script: server version, computers reporting to it with their OS down to the build, and, for each, missing, failed and pending-reboot updates. It never approves, declines or cleans up anything.

What comes into TechWatchAlert

  • The WSUS server version
  • Each workstation and server: name, OS and exact build, manufacturer, model, IP address, last report
  • The number of missing, failed and pending-reboot updates for each

Setup

  1. On the WSUS server, enable WinRM over HTTPS (5986) with Basic authentication
  2. Create a local account in Administrators, or in WSUS Administrators and Remote Management Users
  3. In TechWatchAlert, enter the WinRM address, the account and its password, directly or through an on-site agent
