What the connector does

The Entra ID connector reads devices registered or joined to the directory with an application that only has the “Device.Read.All” permission. Each device joins the fleet: a machine the other tools forgot shows up.

What comes into TechWatchAlert

  • Registered or joined devices: name, OS, version
  • Each device's last sign-in
  • The join type (Entra, hybrid, registered)

Setup

  1. In Entra ID, create an app registration with the “Device.Read.All” permission
  2. Grant admin consent, then create a secret
  3. In TechWatchAlert, enter the tenant, the application ID and the secret
