Virtualization
Microsoft Hyper-V
The exact Windows Server version, the host's software and its virtual machines.
What the connector does
The Hyper-V connector connects to the host over WinRM HTTPS and runs a read-only script: Windows Server version down to the build, installed software, virtual machines and their addresses. Nothing is installed or changed.
What comes into TechWatchAlert
- The Windows Server version, cumulative update included
- Software installed on the host
- Virtual machines, their state and IP addresses
Setup
- On the host, enable WinRM over HTTPS (5986) with a public certificate and Basic authentication
- Create a local account in Hyper-V Administrators and Remote Management Users
- In TechWatchAlert, enter the WinRM address, the account and its password
