GitLab

Your gitlab.com or self-hosted projects monitored, read-only and without webhooks.

What the connector does

The GitLab connector reads the dependency files of your projects, on gitlab.com or your own instance, with the same analysis engine as GitHub. It connects over OAuth with read-only scopes and installs no webhook: each tracked repository is checked regularly and re-read only when its latest commit has changed.

What comes into TechWatchAlert

  • Components and versions from the repository's lockfiles, manifests and SBOMs
  • The source file path of each component
  • Additions, upgrades and removals contributed by this repository, without touching the rest of the stack
  • The list of accessible projects, which stay pending until you enable them

Setup

  1. Choose gitlab.com, or a self-hosted instance (HTTPS address, plus the Application ID and Secret of the OAuth application created by its administrator)
  2. Authorize TechWatchAlert on GitLab (read_api and read_repository scopes)
  3. Turn on “Track this repository” for each project to monitor
